When individuals living with dementia participate in an activity such as adult colouring, there is a decrease in agitation and anxiety. Colouring is an activity that can be done alone, with a caregiver, nurse or therapist.
While colouring, the participant may ‘forget’ their troubles, which ultimately flows into mindfulness or — “being in the moment.”
Colette Art Therapy provides a range of colouring books, founded by a mental health nurse with an artistic side.
There are a variety of books available, focussing on the elderly, mindfulness and general adult colouring. These colouring books can also be personalized where family members, pets, places or objects can be featured in the artwork of the colouring book.
Colette Art Therapy also accepts specific orders for care homes and other facilities.
